Global warming is just a hoax

I'm not much of a believer in the Green Movement.

No, it's not that I think that it's ok that we continue to keep polluting the earth. But see, there's just too much greenwashing going around - a lot of these 'green products' are just fluffy ways to get us to spend more money.

Take, for instance, 'green' hotels that charge ridiculously high prices, justifying their prices through their 'eco-friendly actions'. Or 'green cars' that cost almost double compared to another car with similar specifications.

Or if we just take a look at the car sector: A 'green electric/hybrid car' gets you minimal savings in gas, possibly cleaner emissions, and a safer top up of energy using electricity. But where does that electricity come from? Most of our electricity still comes from the burning of fossil fuels! One might argue that electricity can be produced more efficiently than the inefficient car engines, but then again, traditional petroleum engines last far longer, and are much easier to dispose of when the engines reach the end of its life cycle. Batteries, on the other hand, are filled with poisonous lead elements and are usually not disposed of correctly.

And global warming? That one I truly don't buy into. This video only served to reinforce my opinions on that:

That being said, I do believe in cultivating environmentally friendly habits. In my post There's a bomb in Stockholm, I spoke of how the red Indians in America took only what was needed to survive - not more, not less. They also had an interesting concept which they adhered to - They let the land rest. To them, the earth was not a dead, everlasting resource - It was alive. And so, every few years, they would uproot themselves and go in search for another plot of land to settle in temporarily, earning them the title of 'nomads'. But they were right - the land did need to rest. And when it did, it would recuperate and be just as fertile as it had previously been.

While thinking about this, I recalled that the Bible had said something similar about the growing of crops, so I went to look it up:

"Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard." (Leviticus 25:4-5, KJV)

Interesting, isn't it? The magic formula to keeping the earth going was right there all along! So why are we still in the trouble that we are today?
