Success
Success, I hear this word constantly.
"I'm going to be a great success", "One day I'll be very successful".
The dictionary defines success as; the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
I am no wise man, far from it, but sadly I see many people accompanying the word success with riches and fame.
If success, by definition, means to accomplish a task then how can
money and fame mean that you are successful?
Ask anyone who has attained great amounts of either and they will
tell you, there is never enough.
I am not saying turn away from opportunity or that money and a small amount of acknowledgment are bad.
But I do believe that those in search of the city of gold,
will die in search.
Ask a father whose son just scored his first soccer goal, what success is.
Ask a a wife whose husband just got home from the battlefield, what success is.
Ask a cancer survivor, what success is.
I promise money and fame will not be mentioned once.
Go out today and live your life and become a Great Success.
I will be a Great Success in this life, I know I will.
I might even make a little money along the way too.
My favorite quote about success is by Ralph Waldo Emerson -
"Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!"
Below are some the great quotes about Success.
There is no point at which you can say, "Well, I'm successful now. I might as well take a nap."
~Carrie Fisher
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
~David Frost

I dread success. To have succeeded is to have finished one's business on earth, like the male spider, who is killed by the female the moment he has succeeded in courtship. I like a state of continual becoming, with a goal in front and not behind.
~George Bernard Shaw
Some aspects of success seem rather silly as death approaches.
~Donald A. Miller
The closer one gets to the top, the more one finds there is no "top."
~Nancy Barcus
How do you achieve success? Well, for one thing, you don't define it before you achieve it.
~Robert Brault
