How Birds Fly
The other day I was driving and Bob Marley's song, "Three Little Birds" came on.
And it got me thinking. There are many references to birds having no worries.
The beginning lyrics to "Three Little Birds" goes like this,
'Don't worry about a thing, Every little thing gonna be alright.
Singing don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be alright.
Rise up this morning
Smile with the rising sun
Three little birds, sit by my doorstep
Singing sweet song, a melody pure and true
Singing this is my message to you
Don't worry
About a thing
Every little thing gonna be alright"
One of my all time favorite verses is
"25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
-Matthew 6:25-27
And one of my favorite poems, states this.
"I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself"
by D.H. Lawrence
I believe birds are constantly used as an example of having no worries, because we see them soaring through the skies.
In this fast paced, status driven society we live in, it become very difficult to escape the concerns and worries of this world. But we have to remember that most of our worries are false worries. If a true problem arises, take it on head first and let it be a lesson in life instead of a growing shadow.
Don't forget to sit back and relax. DAILY. Because I absolutely can promise you, that on your last day you will NOT be thinking, Dang I wish I had made more money, bought more things, worked longer ours, become more well known. Nope, those thoughts won't cross your mind at all. Let your last thoughts be "I'm Glad I did" instead of "I wish I had"
Don't worry about a thing, Every little thing gonna be alright!
